Make Beauty review (with special discount code!)

Happy Spring everyone! After taking a short break from blogging, I’m back today with my review of Make Beauty. I was one of the lucky bloggers selected to review two of their products. Before I get into my review, I’d like to share  some information about the brand.

Make Beauty is a hypoallergenic beauty and skincare brand  and all their products are made in NYC. Here is a description of what this beauty company does:
“We develop products to spark your own irresistible desire to create. Professionally formulated but user friendly, every product is designed for personal experimentation –wear wet or dry, alone or layered, subtle or super-pigmented. The collections for lips, eyes, cheeks and skin offer rich formulations and rare palettes for an unconstrained range of colors, finishes and textures. Whether the look is a perfect no-makeup makeup or modern minimal alongside a more pigmented finish is entirely up to you.”

Valentia Eye Cream and Hydration Mask. Indulge your skin.

Disclaimer: all opinions are 100% my own

Hi there! While we are only a couple of weeks away from Spring, it’s still  cold here on the East Coast -well, some days anyway, it’s been a  crazy Winter! With the cold comes dry skin, which means I’m in desperate need for hydrating skincare products. I was one of the lucky  people selected to try a hydrating skincare line by a new company called Valentia. The timing could not have been more perfect!

Valentia was the Roman Goddess of healing and she relied on what nature provided to heel the citizens of Umbria.  She would help farmers heel their damaged skin from the sun with natural ingredients, such as berries and herbs. Similarly to the goddess that inspired it, the Valentia skincare company uses natural ingredients that can help repair sun  and wind damage, and prevent wrinkles and dark spots (paraphrased from http://www.valentia.com/pages/about-us).

I received two products for testing: the Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask and the True Glow Eye Cream. I tested both of them for about 2-3 weeks. I’m going to review the hydrating mask first.

Derma e Firming DMAE Eye Lift is a skincare essential!

I don’t about you, but I’m always searching for an affordable, natural eye cream that works. Fortunately, I was selected to test the derma e Firming DMAE Eye Lift! With this cold weather, it was perfect timing since my skin gets very dry. DermaeEyeCream

Before I get into my review, here is some background information about this California based company.

In 1984 Linda Miles, co-founder of derma e, stated that “One day, mainstream skincare formulas will look like the healthy formulas we make today.” At the time, people didn’t consider how their internal health affected their outward appearance. And, nobody understood that what you put on your skin matters too. However, derma e® pushed skincare forward in a new direction by fusing powerful vitamins and plants together with modern science, and the results are that derma e® built a passionate following in the natural products industry and beyond, always aspiring to make highly effective, premium skincare formulas but with cruelty-free green chemistry.

OZ Naturals Broad Spectrum Tinted Sunscreen SPF 30

Hello beautiful readers! I hope this new post finds you all well!

I received a free sample of the OZ Naturals Tinted Moisturizer in exchange for an honest review. OZ Naturals is a skincare brand that I love. I’ve tried and reviewed other products before (see previous post on the OZ Naturals 2.5% Retinol Serum) and have been very happy with the results.

Since I love to wear tinted moisturizer,  I thought this would be a great opportunity to try a product that I could easily incorporate into my skin regimen. Tinted sunscreen can be versatile and it can eliminate some steps in your daily makeup routine if you are looking to save some time.  During the cold months you can use it as a base for your makeup, while moisturizing your skin at the same time. In the summer, it can work alone – during the summer months my everyday makeup is usually just tinted moisturizer and bronzer.

Purple Dream or Midnight Magic?

After taking a break from blogging for a few days, I decided to continue with my series of eye shadow looks from the Stila eye shadow palette and lookbook In the Moment. Also, I will be a guest at a friend’s wedding in a few days, so I thought I could experiment a bit and choose a look for the event. The first look I tried is called Purple Dream. In the Moment

My last post was about my latest makeup purchase, the Stila eyeshadow palette In the Moment. Another fellow lifestyle blogger (Arielle – her blog is called With All My Affection) suggested I do looks with the palette. I thought it was a great idea and It just so happens that this eyeshadow palette comes with a Lookbook so I decided to  write a separate post for each look to start. Today I’m writing about the first look, which is called Wide Eyed Wonder.

StilaLookbookb

I modified the look a little bit. I wanted a lighter daytime look, since I was just going out to run errands.

StilaLook1Pic3

To get it closer to the sample picture, you need a heavier hand and you have to wet the brush. You need at least two brushes, an eyelid brush and a crease brush. Also it can look more glamorous if you apply lashes. In the pictures I’m just wearing mascara (PhysiciansFormula Organic Wear Fakeout Mascara in Ultra Black). Overall I was pleased with the look, and I did think that it made my eyes look a little bigger and wider. It’s also very easy to replicate. That’s all for today’s look. Stay tuned for the next one!
