Hi everyone! After a long break, I’m back to blogging! I’ve been active on Instagram and Twitter, so you can always find me there in between blog posts. Hope you’ve been having a great summer! Summer is my favorite season, I love going to the parks, the beach and traveling (stay tuned for my future post about my California trip).
Speaking of which, I decided to try out Fab Fit Fun right before summer began, so I received the Spring box full of summer goodies! I had a discount code of $10, so the box cost $39.99. The regular price is $49.99, but it’s a quarterly box rather than monthly and the value of the box is way above $100!
As you can see from the pictures, it’s a pretty large box! Also when you register you have to complete a profile, so you can tailor it to your preferences. I love everything and have been using all the products, so I’d say my first box was a success! I also like that the bx contains a mix of different products, unlike other boxes which focus on just one specific area (skincare, makeup etc). See below for more pictures and details of the products inside!
Since I have a monthly makeup subscription at the moment, I decided to cancel my FabFitFun after I tried this one box. However I would consider subscribing for a year in the near future, given the value and amount of products and how useful and fun they all were. I also discovered that after you cancel you can reactivate your account when you wish to continue with the subscription.
I hope that this post was fun to read as well as informative. Until next time!

Hello lovelies! Summer is in full swing, which means we have to plan weather appropriate outfits for beach getaways, weddings, outdoor concerts and other events and/or gatherings. So many clothes, so little time! When it comes to my summer style, I try to keep it simple, a little sassy and fun! I try to find pieces that are chic and on-trend, but also comfortable and easy. Below are three outfits I’ve worn for different occasions, listed by event type and trend. For more information about the individual pieces, please read the captions and check out the online shopping links below. As always, thank you for following and enjoy!

Hi there! While we are only a couple of weeks away from Spring, it’s still cold here on the East Coast -well, some days anyway, it’s been a crazy Winter! With the cold comes dry skin, which means I’m in desperate need for hydrating skincare products. I was one of the lucky people selected to try a hydrating skincare line by a new company called Valentia. The timing could not have been more perfect!
Valentia was the Roman Goddess of healing and she relied on what nature provided to heel the citizens of Umbria. She would help farmers heel their damaged skin from the sun with natural ingredients, such as berries and herbs. Similarly to the goddess that inspired it, the Valentia skincare company uses natural ingredients that can help repair sun and wind damage, and prevent wrinkles and dark spots (paraphrased from http://www.valentia.com/pages/about-us).
I received two products for testing: the Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask and the True Glow Eye Cream. I tested both of them for about 2-3 weeks. I’m going to review the hydrating mask first.

As many of you know, fashion week just ended here in NYC. This year I had the pleasure and honor of attending the Zac Posen Fall/Winter 2016 show at Spring Studios in Tribeca. This was a fan moment for me, since he is not only one of my favorite designers, but also one of my favorite judges on Project Runway.
“For this collection, I had in mind the incredible journey of Princess Elizabeth of Toro who gained a level of fame around the world in the 1960s for her kind nature, stunning appearance, and exceptional intellect.” -Zac Posen
Mr. Posen’s quote explains where the inspiration for this beautiful, elegant and versatile collection originated. Princess Elizabeth of Toro was the first black woman to get a spread in Vogue Magazine and one of the first few female attorneys in East, Central and Southern Africa. (source: http://biography.yourdictionary.com/elizabeth-bagaaya-nyabongo-of-toro). Given the inspiration, Zac Posen decided to cast a majority of of black models for this runway show, which is still rare in the fashion world.
Now onto my report of the runway show. While I anxiously waited for the show to begin, I was able to spot some celebrities, such as Katie Holmes, Carla Gugino, Nina Garcia (also from Project Runway), Coco Rocha, Jennifer Hudson and Miss J Alexander Runway Coach Diva Extraordinaire (you may remember him from ANTM).
Hi lovely readers! I hope all is well with you! Today I’m taking a break from my skincare reviews to introduce you to some beautiful jewelry. I love accessorizing, and wearing the right jewelry can really help showcase your outfit. Also, I personally find trying on and choosing the right jewelry to be a lot fun!
I recently partnered with jewelry designer Emma Winston to review her Floating Jewelry and to bring you a special discount which you can redeem on the Emma Winston Floating Earring Boutique (see discount code at the end of the post)! In addition to that, you can also participate in a special giveaway by clicking on this link https://promosimple.com/ps/8401.
As described on the Emma Winston Floating Earring Boutique website, “New York-based designer Emma Winston founded her collection with a commitment to creating designer jewelry at affordable prices while remaining focused on quality and craftsmanship” (http://emmawinston.com/pages/about-us). I could not agree more with this description. This jewelry is high quality, yet affordable and each design is unique.
This September I had the pleasure of attending Couture Fashion Week New York , in New York City. The show was fantastic, I really enjoyed the experience (and front row seats!). The show featured two prominent international couture designers, whose gowns have been worn by beauty pageant contestants around the world. The first collection was designed by renowned Dominican designer Lourdes Atencio. Overall, her Spring 2016 collection was fun and romantic. While the first few looks did not impress me, the collection improved for me as the show went on. Many of her pieces had a vintage vibe, and some evoked the 60s and 70s. I would have liked to see more of that since I love those eras. Some gowns also had a metallic fabric that looked like “liquid satin”, which captured the light on the runway in an interesting way. While I liked many of the designs individually, I thought the collection could have been more cohesive.
Hi there! This post is going to be short and sweet! I’m taking a break from beauty posts to share information about some fun summer sales that are happening right now. I love to buy shoes and apparel during end of season sales! I can still wear them since the season isn’t actually over yet and I can save them for the following year. Below is a list of five brands/ stores I like that are currently having an end of season sale. Continue reading “Summer sales are here!!!”→
My newest shoe acquisition is this pair of Circa Joan and David white & metallic sandals, from the Luxe collection. I found myself without white sandals for the summer season, having purged my closet of anything old and worn out during my spring cleaning. Now that it’s finally June, I feel that I can officially wear white since it’s after Memorial Day (I know, it’s an old rule we don’t have to follow anymore-what can I say, I just feel weird wearing white before the holiday!). So I miraculously found a stylish pair my size (woot woot!) on sale on Hautelook (www.hautelook.com- this site has awesome sales every day) that was the color (white/metallic) and heel height (about 3 inches) I was looking for and that appeared to be comfortable enough to wear at work all day. Since I purchased this pair online, I did not know how they would actually look and feel in person. Well, they arrived today, and it turns out they are not only very cute and elegant, but also super-comfortable! I was so excited that I did not have to send them back! I will definitely consider buying this brand again.
I would love to hear what is your latest summer shoe acquisitions and what styles and brands you like! Please share your thoughts!
